The Story: The Bagby Mansion was built between 1927 and 1929 for George L. Bagby. At approximately 15,000 square feet, it was one of the largest homes in Grayson. Bagby was a musician, composer, pianist, and vice president of the Manhattan School of Music. His operetta Fioretta premiered on Broadway in 1928.

By the 1950s, the mansion had become the headquarters of the Rural Electrification Administration. Today, it serves as the corporate headquarters for Grayson Rural Electric, linking the property to the story of electricity and modernization across northeastern Kentucky.
